the Collar vessel
„A vessel that examines how structure shapes visibility and value.“
The Collar Vessels combine cast porcelain bodies with interchangeable collar elements. Produced in our studio from black porcelain, each piece balances formal precision with material resistance: a defined silhouette meeting a subtly textured, light-absorbing surface. Through variations in height and width, the collar alters how its contents are held and guides posture and proportion, shifting the object between containment and release.
Referencing the cultural history of collars as markers of hierarchy and affiliation, the series translates adornment into structure: a boundary that frames perception and assigns emphasis. Produced as a family of cast elements, the Collar Vessel moves between utility and reflection, less a neutral container than a study in how form directs attention.
